Things I am thankful for

So I thought I would write about our thanksgiving (finally.) This was our first year here in Virginia We loved being around Derek's family. We went to Derek's parents wednesday and just hung out then thursday we went to pappy and grandma's where we ate and watched football of course, then we went back to Derek's parent and played games and talked and just hung out. It was very different from my family's thanksgiving but it was great. Derek didn't have to work friday so we went shopping and got most of our Christmas shopping done.. yay I love buying gifts for others. Well with thanksgiving I kinda realized I've been complaining a whole lot so I have to decided to make a list of what I am thankful for

I am thankful for....

My amazing husband, who works so hard and is so loving and caring.

My adorable son who makes my day every day with his hugs and kisses and cute personality.

The little baby girl and her kicks that sometimes wake me up.

My home.

Derek's job.

My family and also Derek's family who I love so much.

That I get to be a stay at home mom.

Well I could go on and on because there is so many things I am thankful for but I think I'll just stick to the basics for now.

well before I go I just want to say I have the cutest son in the whole wide world

every night before we put Carter to bed we say prayers and then we tuck him in and as I walk out he says night night love you too and blows me a kiss he is so sweet I love him so much. anyways just thought I would share that cuteness.

the road life has taken me....

Oh where oh where to begin....

I haven't been on here in forever and I guess I decided it was time to update, since I'm pretty positive no one reads this, this update is for me. So that I can remember where life has taken me. well first off I now live in Virginia... YAY.... not. It's not that I don't like Virginia it's just that it's not home to me... I think Utah will always be home no matter how long I live here. We moved here because my wonderful husband got a job working at EY and accounting firm. So here we are in the very green state of Virginia. Since moving here I've been very lonely, Derek works a ton and he's commute is horrible. So I am home all day every day with Carter. I have no friends, I don't know where anything is and I am constantly getting lost.. well I think that is enough of my complaining at least for now.

Over the summer well actually August 1 to be exact we found out I am pregnant again!!!! We are so excited and last week we found out we are having a little girl. We plan on naming her Addyson Sharon. She is due April 3 2012. I'm really excited about having a girl, I have already bought so many outfits!!! She is going to be a wonderful addition to our little family.

Well I am not a big writer so things that should take a lot of time and space to write turn out to be pretty small. but since I am home all the time and I really do mean all the time, I am going to write more. hopefully it will keep me busy so that being alone doesn't get to me and because I think I would like to become better at writing and what way to be better then to do it a lot. So we will be if my pre-new years goal will actually work or if I go months before writing again guess we will see.

Ok so I have realized that I am terrible about updating this blog, I've never been great at writing my thoughts so I just hold off till I'm bored and have nothing better to do but I've made a goal to do better so lets hope that I do.... I have decided that time flies in a little over six weeks Derek will be graduating I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! It sometimes seems like he just started but I am so excited to be done with this chapter of our lives I'm ready to move on to bigger and better things. But all that really doesn't start till September. We decided that we are going to live with my dad over the summer to save money and so I can see my family a lot before we leave. I'm hoping I can get a job at the day care I used to work at just to bring in more money cuz it's going to cost around $2000 just to move so crazy! Derek is hoping to finish his CPA exams before we move so he will be busy studying and taking tests. Well carter is now 18 months and is in nursery!!! Yipeee it is so nice to actually be able to listen in class and not walking the halls. He loves it he doesn't even get upset when we drop him off but I guess that is a good thing. We took him in the is 18 month check up and well he's a little on the short side so we have to go back in three months and if he hasn't grown then the doctor wants to run a couple of tests to find out why so I'm praying that he gets taller. He is not shy at all he will go up to a complete stranger and just say hey or hi, which scares me. He loves to play with other kids and it's sad but he gets bullied a lot he is just such a sweetie that sometimes the kids pick on him and take he's toys but he is learning to defend himself a little bit. He is starting to talk like crazy. He says don't or stop if we are tickling him or if someone takes he's toys he say mama and dad of course but only says mom when he is mad at me or wants my attention he says please and thank you and juice and up and scout a little stuffed dog and dog he loves dogs well he loves all animals. He says a lot that is between jibberish and actual words so I'm trying to learn all of those. He loves to watch despicable me and handy manny and mickey mouse. He is a little pig he loves all fruits and waffles and hot dogs. sometimes he can be picky but most times he's pretty good. He is so independent he does things when he's ready and won't be forced to do things he doesn't want to so, so we deal with a lot of fits he used to throw himself on the ground but now he just covers his face. He loves to give kisses and hugs and he loves to cuddle he is such a sweetheart and I am so blessed to have him I love watching him go and learn, he truly is my pride and joy... man do I know how to gush about my kid or what haha.

Forever...

So I haven't written in FOREVER! So where to start..... In august Carter turned one I can't believe how much my little boy has grown up! He is now 17 months and talking like crazy he's got such a big personality and cracks me up! In October Derek flew out to Virginia to interview with some accounting firms and got offers from everywhere he interviewed, he chose EY and will be starting this coming October so that means we are moving to Virginia! I'll be honest I'm totally freaked I don't want to leave my family but I'm also excited about Derek having a real job. I'm so proud of him and so lucky to have a husband who does so much for us! well thanksgiving came and went and added about five extra pounds that I now get to lose, It was interesting it was the first year not being at my grandpa's but all in all it was a good day. In December my sister-in-law had her baby a cute little baby girl they named her Taylor and she is the tiniest little thing I could hold all day if I could. We flew to Virginia this year for TWO WEEKS it was fun but by the end I was so ready to go home and now we are home and Derek is starting he's last semester at BYU then we really get to start living our lives and being "adults"

Hmmmm

So I'm just sitting at home totally bored out of my mind!!! So I decided I would write a little something, no idea of what I'm going to write so we'll see what comes out.

So my dad went out of town so Jacob is hanging out with us he is totally bored as well. We are planning a party weekend for the fourth, it should be lots of fun I'm really excited!!! Pool BBQ's fun and games with the fam should be a blast!!!! Carter is walking everywhere he has really gotten the hang it. He is such a big boy I can't believe he is almost a year kinda crazy. well that's about all I can think of man I'm boring!!!!

Just Blah....

On May 5th I started school again, I can't even begin to describe how good it feels to get out of the house at least three times a week. It's nice to have something that you need to get up get ready and go to. It seems that the days that I have school are so much better then the days I don't. Although I don't like the homework much but I'll take it!! I am so happy that summer is just around the corner I really need the sunshine! I love going on walks with Carter and when it's nice we both love it! I'm trying to find a job I've had two interview but nothing has worked out and it's really getting frustrating, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Oh well guess I'll just keep on trying somethings got to work out eventually.. Right? Well that's my little rant gotta run

Sooner than later

Well we found out yesterday that Derek didn't get into the MAcc at BYU. So now instead of two years before he's done it's not one year. Yeah totally stressed and a little freaked out cuz Derek wants to move to Virginia and I thought I had two years left here but now It's one.

Our trip!

So we have been in Virginia the past couple of days well about seven days to be exact. It's been lots of fun. We flew out last Friday our plane didn't get in until about 12:30am. Then we had to drive from Baltimore to Stephens city and that is about a hour and a half to two hours. Carter loved flying he did great. The next day we went to a family party at pappy's house and Carter got to see Derek's side of the family, he loved pappy. On Sunday we went to meet Carter's great great grandpa. The rest of the week has been pretty lazy we haven't done much. Today and Tomorrow are we are going to be doing apple blossom things. well that's all for now

One Year....

A year ago my mom died. It was one of the hardest days of my life, I miss her so much. I thought I would put up a couple of pictures in her memory. I love you mom.

Not much going on

Well Nothing new really I'm just bored so I thought I would write. We love our new car it has heat!!!! (our old car didn't have heat well the fan broke so we hadn't had heat for a while) next week is my dad's birthday we are going over for dinner for a BBQ and it is definitely going to be different this year, my mom used to make my dads favorite dinner every year which would happen to be homemade potatoes and corn and hamburger patties covered in gravy (yummy) but since my mom isn't here anymore jodi is doing a BBQ so many things have changed but guess I gotta get used to the changes. Well I'm gonna put up some of the family pictures we took.

BUSY CRAZY AND MORE BUSY

oh boy where to start. Guess I'll start with my wonderful baby boy. He is 7 MONTHS I can't believe it he is growing to dang fast I don't know what to do with myself. He is crawling every where and has discovered the kitchen and now I can't keep him out of it. He has also learned how do open the bottom drawers can you say what a MESS. He is pulling himself up on to everything, I'm thinking he might be an early walker. Guess we'll see. He can stand by himself for about 10 seconds.

Derek's family was here last week to send brad off on his mission. It was an adventure to have four more people in our apartment but is was fun to catch up and spend time with his family. His youngest brother Cory was a crack up EVERYWHERE we went he was checking at the girls. boys will be boys haha. This past Saturday we went to an old family friends house for some lunch and games. When we got there some of Jodi's kids where there which we should have expected but didn't it was awkward at first as it always is but by the end I think it went pretty well. It's to the new and strange and we don't really know how to talk to each other so we just ignore each other. Hopefully things get better soon, I hate the awkward family gatherings. Well now for the big news we got a new car. It's kinda a long story but I'll try to make it short. So Derek took our car to get the inspection test and well we failed the the guy told Derek that it would cost us about $600 to fix it...CRAZY. Well we have already put about $500 into and the $600 is just the stuff to get it to pass inspections but there's some other things wrong which would cost more money. So we were looking all our options and at decided to see what is would cost us to lease a new car, so we spent about three hours at the honda dealership and left with a new car. Now we are trying to sell our old car. Hopefully someone will buy it. This week Derek has lots of test so wish him luck...

21 and more

So yesterday was my 21st birthday. How time flies. I had so much fun. To start everything off, Derek surprised me with a little get away. Friday afternoon he came home and told me to get ready cuz we were going out to dinner. He didn't tell me where but I played along, So I got ready and we left well he went to andrew and aftons and dropped carter off and he told me they wernoe babysitting. Now I was Really starting to wonder what was going on. We start driving and Derek starts going up the canyon and I was thinking what the heck is up here. Eventually he pulls in the snow covered driveway and lets me in on the secret. We were staying over night in the cute little cabin and that andrew and afton would be watching carter over night. I first I had a little panic attack because this would be my first night away from carter but I settled down. Derek had packed our bag and went to the store and got all this food without me even knowing. Well this cabin had heated floors and a log fireplace so we came home smelling like a campfire. It also had a hot tub that was surrounding my snow and had a little creek right next to it. It was so relaxing, I loved it. Then yesterday we went out to dinner with the friends and played clue after. It was so much fun. It seems like I'm going to have a super long birthday because on saturday we are going to my dads for a combined birthday party for me and my oldest brother. I think some of Jodi's kids might come I hope it's not awkward I don't think they like us very much. (Jodi is my dads wife) Then on sunday we are doing and extended family party for me and my little cousin. So lots of parties woo hoo!!! Other than birthdays not much is going on. Carter is crawling like crazy he is into EVERYTHING!!! He is also starting to pull him self up on anything and everything so he has a couple bumps on his head from falling. He is a little pig all he wants to do it eat and eat and eat. His two bottom teeth are all the way in and I think he might be getting more soon. Derek's family is getting here on saturday and Brad is going into the MTC on March 3. We are very excited to see them.

LA DI DA

Okay so I really can't think of titles that well, yeah I know not very creative. Well not much going on lately. Carter is getting two teeth at ONCE, he is super grumpy and isn't sleeping well. It's been some long days..yawn. He is almost crawling it is so cute he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. I can't wait till he is crawling he really wants to be mobile. He is going to be six months this saturday I can't believe it. Derek is still busy with school as always. Lots of family drama this week, but we are dealing, well as best we can. I am starting to get bored at home I can't wait till summer then I can go for walks and enjoy the nice warm sunshine..I want winter to be over. Well not much on my mind so see ya......

Life..

Oh my goodness time flies, I can't believe the things that have changed. Carter is sitting up on his own and almost crawling and he is eating solids. He doesn't like his food to much but he is getting used to them. I was looking through some pictures and found one of me pregnant.. that now seems like forever ago. Now my days are busy taking care of my little man. I stay at home so I get pretty bored there's only so much to do.. so I have started little activities to keep my self entertained.. I am making carter the cutest blanket okay it's not that cute but I've had fun doing it, it is a sports blanket with footballs soccer balls and basketballs on it. Derek loves it, but anything sports and Derek would love it. I have also started cooking a lot and that goes along with Derek and I trying to eat healthy.. but the bad part is that I love making cookies with isn't so healthy. I just made some cherry chocolate ones they were pretty good but I know they can be better so I am going to work on perfecting them. So last week was my dads wedding, still weird but I'm going to try and be positive about it.. hopefully I can. Derek is still super busy with school, I'm taking this semester off but going back in the spring and summer I'm kinda excited to have something to do. Derek and I are planning a trip back to Virginia in May my brother and is wife are going to go with us. I'm really excited it should be lots of fun. Well can't think of anything else to write hopefully I'll get better at this.

Back to Normal Life

Well the holidays have come and gone and derek is back in school with loads of homework already. I can't wait till he is done only two and a half years left. We have been sleep training carter and he now sleeps through the night!!! He is also taking 3 hour naps during the day! We are way happy. We have started giving him rice cereal, he hates it. I'm hoping he will get used to it. He will be 5 months tomorrow...I can't believe how fast time flies. He is also starting to sit up on his own. He first tooth is just sitting there and doesn't want to come down so that makes him a little cranky. Derek's little brother Brad got his mission call we are so excited for him he reports the the MTC in March and we will possibly get to see the whole fam.. we are so excited. Well on my side of the family the big news is my dad is getting married. I will be honest I not very excited, It is really fast( it has only been nine months since my mom died) and there's a lot of changes. She has five kids, three girls and two boys although only one kid will be moving into my dads it's still really weird. I will be gaining Five step siblings...That's a lot. He will be getting married in two weeks. So a lot of changes happening.. not sure I'm ready for them. That's all for now I guess.
